John is a Development Specialist with 37 years post qualification experience. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Economic and Social Studies and a Post-graduate Diploma in Development Administration from the University of Manchester in England, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Public Administration from the University of Zambia besides professional qualifications in Gender, Food Security and Monitoring and Evaluation. John’s professional career has traversed the public sector having served in the Ministries of Agriculture and Community Development and Social Services; civil society under the Adventist Relief and Development Agency (ADRA) to the private sector under RuralNet Associates Limited (a development consulting firm).

Currently, John is working as a freelance consultant. In this capacity, he has worked for RuralNet Associates Limited on various assignments and has been featured on teams of experts by international firms for both Expression of Interests (EoI) and short-listed bids. Such companies include Crisil Market Intelligence and Analytics and Lochan and Company both of India, and Research Methods International of Zimbabwe to mention but a few.

He is skilled in resource mobilization; undertaking qualitative and quantitative research, social studies and surveys; preparing field reports and concept notes; food security analysis and management; gender, disability and social inclusion; project planning, management and monitoring and evaluation of development projects. Therefore, he is an accomplished social development expert with immense hands-on experience.
